U.S. Marshals Nab One Suspect in Connecticut Home Shooting After Two-Month Hunt
A 24-year-old suspect in the June 3 Milford home invasion that left Frederick Werner dead and his wife injured was arrested in the Bronx by U.S. Marshals.
U.S. Marshals arrested 24-year-old Ivan Barias-Florimon in the Bronx after a two-month investigation linked him to the June 3 home invasion in Milford, Connecticut. The assault on the Werner residence resulted in the death of 69-year-old Frederick Raymond Werner and a serious head wound to his wife, who is still receiving treatment. Police allege the perpetrators, Barias-Florimon and 25-year-old Stuar Lopez-Reyes, broke into the East Broadway home and opened fire, suggesting a premeditated motive.
Barias-Florimon faces charges including felony murder, conspiracy, home invasion, attempted murder, and first-degree assault on an elderly person, and was ordered held without bail. Lopez-Reyes is being detained in Bridgeport on a $3 million bond and awaits a court appearance on August 11. The investigation remains active, and Werner is survived by his wife, sister, two daughters, and three grandchildren.
