UND football fall camp highlights strong receiving, quarterback depth and defensive line play

The University of North Dakota football team completed its second day of fall camp on Thursday, primarily at Memorial Field in Grand Forks. Receivers Deng Deng and Caleb Goodloe repeatedly won contested balls, showcasing the squad's ability to secure 50-50 catches. Quarterback Jerry Kaminski continued to deliver accurate back-shoulder throws, while Javance Tupou'ata-Johnson performed well in drills, positioning himself as the leading backup.

With the departure of returner Zach Lewis, the coaching staff rotated several candidates, including cornerback Evan Kludt and nickel back Henry Theobald, to assess punt and kick return options. Running back Charles Langama, a redshirt freshman, showed early explosiveness, joining a competition that includes Illinois State transfer Matt Lawson and sophomore Colton Brunell. On defense, new transfer defensive tackle Kylyn Macklin paired with veteran edge rusher Lance Rucker, displaying quickness and gap-closing ability in team drills.
