Undercover sting leads to NSW court case against gang figure Sam Amine

Police surveillance captured Sam Amine, 39, coordinating the supply of 500 g of MDMA and a.45-calibre pistol to an undercover operative identified as "Kraken" on Threema. The operation began in April 2024, with Amine describing the MDMA as "light but very strong" and later negotiating a $30,000 price for the loaded weapon. His nephew, Nabil Allouche, handed over the drugs and firearm, and forensic analysis revealed the MDMA was 77.5 % pure.

After a subsequent exchange of nearly a kilogram of MDMA and cocaine for $48,000, police arrested Amine and seized $10 million in assets. He has pleaded guilty to the drug and firearm offenses and awaits sentencing, while also being sought by Fijian authorities over a record 4-tonne meth seizure.
