Underground chemist posts alleged LSD tutorial, then loses Patreon and YouTube accounts

Boston-born William “Willy” Myco, a 38-year-old mycologist living in Puerto Rico, posted a Halloween 2024 video that he billed as the first public LSD synthesis tutorial, complete with a three-day lab demonstration but no on-camera testing of the final product. The clip, part of a larger library of over 120 drug-making guides, led YouTube to delete his “Willy’s World” channel and Patreon to ban his account for violating rules against instructions for controlled substances.

Myco, who also markets mushroom strains, merchandise and consulting, says the material is intended for harm-reduction education and plans to shift to Discord and his own site. Critics, including chemist Hamilton Morris, doubt the purity of the substance shown, while Myco reports threats from rival producers and claims to be armed for protection. Despite platform bans, he continues to organize community trips and promote decentralized psychedelic knowledge.
