USAA launches temporary National Military Monument beside Lincoln Memorial
A new temporary monument honoring U.S. service members has opened on the National Mall in front of the Lincoln Memorial, funded by USAA.
The National Military Monument, a temporary installation funded by USAA, debuted this week as part of the United States' 250th anniversary celebrations. Two digital displays present the names of veterans drawn from public records, and visitors can search for individuals or submit additional service information online. The exhibit is intended to recognize every generation of military personnel while giving families a personal way to connect with the memorial. It will remain on view until August 23.
Why it matters
It provides a public, interactive way to recognize and connect with the millions of Americans who have served in the armed forces.
