Veteran stock agent lists million-kilometre Toyota LandCruiser for auction

After accumulating almost one million kilometres, a 2009 Toyota LandCruiser owned by Nhill stock agent Gary Driscoll is being offered in a two-week online auction beginning Monday. Driscoll, who averaged more than 180 km per day traveling to farms across western Victoria, chose to stop the odometer at 999,999 km, leaving the final 300 metres for the future buyer. The vehicle has undergone close to 100 services and is parked in Nhill, with the seller suggesting a likely sale price of $20,000 to $30,000.

Horsham Toyota confirmed the car’s unprecedented mileage for its series and noted the original engine remains intact. Toyota could not verify a national record but acknowledged several customers have surpassed the million-kilometre mark. Automotive writer Toby Hagon called the car’s mileage “extremely rare,” noting that 4WDs and utes tend to achieve higher distances on country roads, which are gentler on engines.
