Voters Favor Data Centers Generating Their Own Power Over Complete Ban, Poll Finds

According to a poll released by the Napolitan Institute, led by pollster Scott Rasmussen, a clear majority of voters prefer a regulatory approach that requires data centers to supply their own electricity instead of prohibiting new sites. The data reveal that 64% would choose a candidate advocating for self-generated power for data centers, whereas just 28% support a candidate who would ban them outright. In broader terms, 49% of respondents favor candidates opposed to data centers, contrasted with 28% who back pro-data-center candidates.

The poll also notes that 45% of those surveyed strongly favor the self-supply requirement. These findings suggest public resistance to a total ban and a willingness to consider energy-independent solutions for the tech sector.
