Walmart pulls pistachio nut butter from shelves after salmonella detection
Walmart customers in 19 states are urged to discard Bettergoods pistachio nut butter after a recall was triggered by salmonella found in one lot.
Botticelli Foods, a New York-based company, issued a voluntary recall of a single lot (LB028ACP04) of its Bettergoods Pistachio Nut Butter after routine FDA testing identified salmonella. The nut butter, manufactured in Italy by Gustoso Alimentari S.r.l., is sold exclusively at Walmart and was distributed to stores in 19 states, including Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Washington and Wyoming.
The issue was discovered when the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services found the bacteria in three jars during an inventory inspection on July 17, 2026. No illnesses have been linked to the product. The recalled jars are 6.7-ounce glass containers with a Jan. 28 2027 expiration date. Walmart advises purchasers to cease consumption and return the items for a full refund, and Botticelli Foods provided contact details for further inquiries.
