White House unveils Fraud.gov portal to monitor anti-fraud actions

On Thursday the White House introduced Fraud.gov, an online dashboard that aggregates data on the administration's fraud-prevention initiatives across federal agencies. The site showcases the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud's activities, including investigations, criminal charges, funding suspensions, recoveries and other enforcement measures since the task force was formed earlier this year. According to the administration, the task force has flagged almost $230 billion in alleged fraud, prevented $56 billion in fraudulent disbursements, and pursued more than $55 billion through indictments, settlements and civil penalties.

Entries on the portal cover a range of actions, from healthcare fraud prosecutions and Medicare-Medicaid enforcement to pandemic-relief loan probes and arrests linked to the Feeding Our Future scandal. The Justice Department's June healthcare fraud takedown, involving 455 defendants and over $6.5 billion in false claims, is highlighted alongside Medicaid investigations in California, Minnesota and Ohio. The website will be updated as additional cases and recoveries are disclosed.
