Wife's lover attacks husband with axe 17 times in Uttar Pradesh murder case

Talib, a 26-year-old welder originally from Gujarat, traveled to his wife's family house in Budhana, Muzaffarnagar, after receiving a call about an urgent issue. There, he was attacked by Aasim, a 25-year-old man alleged to be his wife's lover, who struck him 17 times with a sharp-edged farm axe. The assault, captured by a nearby CCTV camera, occurred in daylight following an argument.

Police located Aasim the next day as he attempted to flee through a cane field, during which he opened fire on officers and was hit in the leg; he was subsequently taken to a local health facility. An FIR was lodged against both Aasim and Meena under sections for murder and criminal conspiracy, and the weapons used were seized. Aasim confessed to the crime during interrogation.
