Yankees' Aaron Judge cleared for light workouts after rib imaging
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Aaron Judge has been cleared for light activity following imaging of his injured rib.
Aaron Judge, sidelined since May 31 with a stress fracture in his upper-right rib, underwent imaging on Tuesday and was cleared for light activity, according to manager Aaron Boone. The clearance permits running and resistance training but does not yet allow him to swing a bat. Boone indicated that the next phase will involve gradually reintroducing baseball-specific drills.
The Yankees are eager to have Judge healthy and in game shape for a potential postseason run. Judge was observed running and stretching on the field before the Wednesday game against the St. Louis Cardinals. While the medical green light is a positive sign, full readiness for regular-season play remains uncertain.
