In Glasgow's Commonwealth Games javelin final, Yash Vir Singh surged from seventh place to claim bronze with an 85.41 m throw, a personal record that eclipsed his prior mark by almost three metres. The throw secured a historic double for India, as Neeraj Chopra earned silver behind Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga. Singh's comeback came after a serious shoulder injury in 2022 that required surgery at the Abhinav Bindra Targeting Performance Centre in Jaipur and a lengthy rehab enforced by doctors.
