Zimbabwe mourns mother and two daughters slain in UK as husband is detained

After relatives could not contact a family living near Bedford, north of London, police uncovered the bodies of Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, and her daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, all suffering fatal head injuries. The community gathered in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe's second-largest city, to lay the victims in white coffins before burial, while a family spokesperson spoke of profound sorrow. The children's father, Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, a British citizen originally from Zimbabwe, escaped to South Africa and was arrested in Johannesburg following a coordinated effort by Interpol and South African police.

He is charged with murder in the United Kingdom and unlawful possession of an unlicensed firearm in South Africa, where authorities believe he intended to use it on himself. South African courts will now review a request to extradite him to face the UK charges. The case has drawn attention across the UK, Zimbabwe, and neighboring South Africa.
