Mark Zuckerberg, founder and chief executive of Meta, outlined a vision for a future where personal superintelligent AI is available to all people rather than a privileged few. His 14-page manifesto, titled “The Future is for Everyone,” frames broad AI distribution as both a growth engine and a safeguard against power concentration in governments, businesses, or AI itself. Zuckerberg positioned Meta as the sole company dedicated to building personal AI, noting that most other labs aim at institutional users, which could tilt the balance of power.
He pledged to resume releasing open-source AI models, citing the upcoming launch of Muse Glimmer, a 30-billion-parameter model runnable on consumer hardware, and a forthcoming version of Muse Spark 1.2. Additionally, Meta announced a $1 billion Future Is for Everyone Fund to invest in U.S. locales where its data centers operate, citing examples like teacher bonuses in Richland Parish, Louisiana. The plan calls for collaboration with government regulators to ensure a positive AI future.
