10-Year-Old Argentine Girl Found Pregnant, Stepdad Arrested for Sexual Abuse

Medical staff in the Argentine town of Colonia Dora examined a ten-year-old girl who reported intense abdominal pain and uncovered that she was roughly six months pregnant. The finding led hospital personnel to notify police, who shortly thereafter arrested the child’s 32-year-old stepfather. He was discovered in possession of a revolver and a butcher’s knife and is now detained on charges of grave sexual abuse of a minor.

The girl had earlier told her mother that the stepfather was harming her when she was alone. The mother, 25, is also pregnant and has reportedly endured repeated violence from the same man, who had been in a relationship with her for about a year. The girl’s grandmother warned her about the man, whom the family had met online.
