13-Year-Old Attacks Teacher with Pepper Spray and Knife at Rome Middle School
A 13-year-old student assaulted a teacher at the Giovanni Verga middle school in Rome, using pepper spray and a knife, but the teacher is not in life-threatening condition.
In the Collatina district of Rome, a 13-year-old pupil from the third year of middle school attacked a teacher inside the Giovanni Verga school on via Giovanni Gussone 5. The assault began with the student spraying pepper spray into the teacher’s face, followed by a knife wound to her. The incident prompted a 112 emergency call, leading Carabinieri from the Rome Centocelle station and 118 medical personnel to the scene.
The teacher was treated on site, her condition is not life-threatening, but she remains in a state of shock. Investigators are now examining the events that preceded the attack, the source of the knife and spray, and whether the items were brought into the school. Witness statements and forensic evidence will be used to reconstruct the full sequence of events.
