18-year-old arrested after crash on A4104 kills 16-year-old passenger
A blue Volkswagen Polo collided with a tree on the A4104 in Worcestershire, killing a 16-year-old passenger and leading to the arrest of an 18-year-old driver.
Around 9.20 pm on Saturday night, a blue Volkswagen Polo traveling eastbound on the A4104 near Defford hit a tree located between the main road and the slip road to Bourne Road. The collision resulted in the death of a 16-year-old passenger, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and caused minor injuries to two other occupants, aged 16 and 17. West Mercia Police arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while impaired by drink and drugs.
Detective Sergeant Rose Hughes of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit appealed for any witnesses or dash-cam recordings that could help reconstruct the incident. The driver has been interviewed and released on bail while investigations continue.
