18-Year-Old Cal State Fullerton Student Dies After Fraternity Party

Fullerton Police Department reported that Anthony Joseph Blas, an 18-year-old freshman at Cal State Fullerton, died after being taken to St. Jude Medical Center following a fraternity function. He arrived at the emergency department shortly after midnight on Saturday and was declared dead at the scene. Authorities indicated that alcohol consumption at the party appeared to have contributed to his death, while ruling out hazing and any signs of foul play.

The investigation is ongoing, with no arrests made. Blas had been highlighted by Los Altos High School earlier in the year for his extensive list of college acceptances, including Cal State Fullerton. His death has sparked concern among students and local officials about alcohol safety at campus events.
