26-year-old arrested for kidnapping and assault of young woman in Castellammare di Stabia

Police detained a 26-year-old man suspected of kidnapping, physically and sexually assaulting a barely-adult woman in a basement in Castellammare di Stabia.

A 26-year-old man was taken into custody as part of an investigation into the abduction and violent assault of a young woman just over the age of majority in Castellammare di Stabia, province of Napoli. According to police, the perpetrator used a deceptive invitation on social media to bring the victim into a secluded, unlit cellar within a building on Corso Alcide De Gasperi. Inside, he obstructed the sole exit with a large radiator and wooden beams, subjected her to repeated physical and sexual attacks, and issued severe death threats while confiscating her mobile phone to prevent calls for help.

The woman eventually managed to leave the premises and filed a complaint, which investigators corroborated with medical reports and forensic evidence. A judge ordered the suspect's preventive detention, citing the seriousness of his conduct, his social danger, and the risk of repeat offenses. He is now charged with aggravated kidnapping, sexual violence and personal injury, and the case remains in the preliminary investigation phase.
