37-Year-Old Man Detained on Sexual Abuse Charges Involving Two Minor Girls in Bucharest

Police in Bucharest have placed a 37-year-old man in preventive detention for 30 days after allegations that he sexually assaulted two girls, aged 10 and 14.

The Bucharest Capital Police, through its Sexual Aggression Service, detained a 37-year-old man on preventive custody for a month after a 33-year-old father reported that his 10-year-old daughter had been sexually assaulted. The same suspect is alleged to have also assaulted a 14-year-old girl at the same location, exploiting the victims' inability to resist. Police investigators gathered evidence indicating intimate contact with both minors.

A prosecutor specialized in crimes against children is supervising the case, which remains under active investigation. The suspect was initially held for 24 hours before the 30-day preventive measure was imposed. Authorities emphasized that the criminal process respects the presumption of innocence while gathering further proof.
