49ers evaluate free-agent defensive end Jah Joyner ahead of final roster cuts

On Wednesday the San Francisco 49ers hosted free-agent defensive end Jah Joyner, a former Minnesota standout who entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie with the Las Vegas Raiders after the 2025 draft. After being waived by the Raiders, Joyner spent time with the Dallas Renegades and Houston Gamblers in the United Football League, playing the 2026 season with the Gamblers. Standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 265 pounds, he recorded 12 sacks and 50 tackles in his final two college seasons and performed well at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. The 49ers, who also worked out Viliami Fehoko, Ron Stone and Diwun Black over the weekend, are probing the free-agent market as they approach the 53-man roster deadline and a final preseason matchup against the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.
