51-Year-Old Man Arrested in Liverpool After Teen Claims Rape in Restaurant
Police in Liverpool detained a 51-year-old man after an 18-year-old woman said she was raped in a local restaurant and later sought help on Queens Drive.
On Saturday evening, Merseyside Police were alerted by locals that an 18-year-old woman had alleged she was raped in a restaurant in Liverpool. The teenager was discovered in a state of distress on Queens Drive in the Clubmoor district. Police quickly identified a 51-year-old man from West Derby as the alleged perpetrator and arrested him for questioning.
He has since been released on conditional bail as the investigation proceeds. The victim is being assisted by specialist police officers trained to support sexual-assault survivors. Authorities have not released further details about the case pending ongoing enquiries.
