52-Year-Old Author Charged with Killing His Artist Wife in Kotka Home
A 52-year-old writer has been accused of murdering his Russian-born artist wife at their Kotka residence.
Investigators allege that a 52-year-old male writer killed his wife, a Russian-origin artist and educator, with a bladed weapon inside their Karhuvuori home in Kotka. The husband, who has authored novels, collections of short stories and poetry, also ran unsuccessfully as a Finns Party candidate in the 2025 municipal elections. He has been a Kotka resident for a number of years. Former art students described the victim as warm, gentle and always willing to help. The couple had been married for multiple decades. The case is now proceeding in the Kymenlaakso district court.
