59-year-old woman to be tried for raping son and selling abuse footage

A 59-year-old woman accused of repeatedly raping her under-15 son and selling the recordings will face trial in Rzeszów, alongside six other men.

Prosecutors in Rzeszów said a 59-year-old woman will stand trial for repeatedly raping her son, who was under 15, and for distributing the photographic and video evidence of the abuse through an internet portal. The alleged offenses, spanning from October 2020 until her arrest in June 2024, also include incest, sexual exploitation of a minor and creation of pornographic content involving a child. The case involves 14 defendants from various regions; seven have already admitted guilt and received sentences ranging from suspended terms to up to two years and ten months in prison, plus bans on working with minors and fines.

The remaining six men and the woman face charges of possession of child pornography and, for most, incitement of the woman to abuse her son. The investigation was conducted by the Operational-Investigation Department of the Rzeszów Central Bureau of Cybercrime, and the trial will be heard by the District Court in Rzeszów. If convicted, the woman faces a minimum of five years’ imprisonment, potentially up to life, while the men could receive up to 15 years.
