Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office arrived at The Enclave, a high-end gated condo area in Palm Desert, shortly before 10 a.m. after receiving an unspecified trouble call. They found a man with severe injuries that matched a violent assault and pronounced him dead at the scene; the victim was later identified as the husband of Vicky Kim, 65. Kim was arrested and booked on a murder charge for allegedly striking him repeatedly with a flagpole during a financial dispute.
The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office noted that Kim has been the subject of several domestic-violence filings from September 2025 to January 2026, and that earlier protective orders were dismissed by a judge despite the DA’s efforts to prosecute. Prosecutors claim the earlier cases were downgraded to misdemeanors and the orders terminated, allowing the alleged abuse to continue. The investigation remains ongoing, and the victim’s name has been withheld.
