74-year-old receives 14-year prison term for rapes of minor girls in Meurthe-et-Moselle
A 74-year-old man was sentenced in Nancy to 14 years in prison for raping and assaulting three under-age girls, some of whom were drugged.
In a closed-door proceeding before the cour criminelle de Meurthe-et-Moselle in Nancy, 74-year-old Jacky Guillaumet was handed a 14-year custodial sentence for rapes and sexual assaults on three girls who were minors at the time of the crimes, which spanned from 2009 to 2023. The court’s penalty exceeded the prosecutor’s request for 12 years. The victims, drawn from the defendant’s close circle or neighbourhood, were allegedly drugged with sleeping and psychotropic substances to impair their judgment.
The case was initially triggered by a 2012 disappearance complaint from a victim’s parents, leading to the suspect’s capture near the Belgian border. Guillaumet partially or fully admitted the offenses concerning two victims. Defence attorney Mathieu Servagi described the punishment as excessive and said an appeal would be filed, arguing that the evidence was insufficient.
