93-Year-Old Toulouse Resident Found Dead with Naked Sudanese Man on Top
Police in Toulouse discovered the body of 93-year-old Marie-Louise, who had been killed and sexually assaulted, with a naked 34-year-old Sudanese migrant lying atop her.
In Toulouse's Minimes district, emergency responders responded to reports of disturbances and discovered the corpse of 93-year-old pensioner Marie-Louise lying naked on her bathroom floor. A naked 34-year-old Sudanese migrant was found on top of her, and investigators say the victim suffered injuries suggesting sexual assault and fatal neck trauma. Police arrested the man, who is believed to be in France illegally, and he is scheduled to appear before a judge on Tuesday.
Prosecutors have requested that he remain in custody pending further inquiry into whether the rape occurred before or after death. Marie-Louise, who had been disabled after a stroke, was regarded as a beloved "neighbourhood grandmother" and her death has prompted residents to leave flowers at the scene.
