A'ja Wilson was voted the WNBA Most Valuable Player for a record-setting fifth time, surpassing the previous all-time high. Her win also created the first three-year MVP streak in league history. Wilson averaged 26.2 points per game this season, becoming the first player to log at least 25 points while shooting 50% from the field and 40% from three.
She earned 65 first-place votes, with Olivia Miles, Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark receiving the remaining ballots. The 30-year-old continues to lead the Las Vegas Aces, who now trail the Golden State Valkyries 0-2 in the playoff semifinals. Wilson already holds three championships and two Finals MVPs, and could add another if the Aces advance.
