AAP councillors bring inflatable boat into MCD meeting to protest Delhi flooding

At a Monday session of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, AAP councillors highlighted the city's recent waterlogging by bringing an inflated rubber boat into the council chamber. After filling the boat outside, they marched it inside, chanting and standing on benches, which led Mayor Pravesh Wahi to adjourn the meeting for roughly ten minutes. When the session resumed, opposition figure Anukush Narang accused the BJP of neglecting the flooding crisis, claiming the city had never seen such conditions.

The mayor responded that AAP often disrupts constructive debate and cautioned that repeated unparliamentary conduct would trigger disciplinary action. The meeting also covered other civic concerns, including drainage, mosquito infestations and stray dogs, and the mayor announced that elected officials would receive medical treatment under the Central Government Health Scheme. The session continued until 6:30 p.m.
