AAP's 2025-26 donations plunge 68% as two donors provide half the funds

The Aam Aadmi Party's financial disclosure for the 2025-26 fiscal year shows total contributions of Rs 12.10 crore, marking a 68% decline from the previous year’s Rs 38.10 crore. Nearly 83% of this amount came from just two donors: Prudent Electoral Trust, which gave Rs 5 crore, and Trident Limited, also contributing Rs 5 crore. Trident Limited was established by former AAP Rajya Sabha member Rajinder Gupta, who left the party for the BJP after Raghav Chadha’s rebellion merged two-thirds of AAP’s Rajya Sabha strength into the ruling party in April.

The remaining Rs 2.10 crore came from a range of smaller donors. The report, filed after AAP lost its Delhi government in February 2025, also lists Punjab AAP president Aman Arora receiving twelve payments of Rs 10,000 each. Comparable filings from other regional parties show similar declines in donations across the board.
