AARP poll shows Collins ahead of Ossoff among Georgia seniors

A poll commissioned by AARP and carried out by Fabrizio Ward and Impact Research between July 13 and 16 surveyed 1,060 likely voters in Georgia. Among those 65 and older, Rep. Mike Collins enjoys a 24-point advantage over Sen. Jon Ossoff, while the opposite is true for younger voters, where Ossoff leads by 30 points. The overall statewide numbers still favor Ossoff by nine points, with 5% of participants undecided.

Researchers from Emory and the University of Georgia point out that seniors not only vote more consistently but also tend to support Republican candidates. The survey also highlights higher motivation to vote among older Georgians, with 88% rating their intent at the top of the scale, compared with 62% of those under 50. These age-based voting patterns could prove decisive in a race that may determine Senate control.
