The document emphasizes her absence from the final vote on a constitutional amendment, dubbed Jocelyn’s Law, that would have denied bail to violent illegal immigrants after the murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray. It also lists her 2023 votes against Senate Bill 3, which allocates money for border walls and security, and against Senate Bill 4, which creates a crime for illegal entry into Texas.
Additionally, the release cites her opposition to measures intended to hold prosecutors accountable for not enforcing state laws. Campaign communications director Catherine Frazier says Hinojosa’s record reflects a failure to defend Texans from criminal illegal aliens, positioning the issue as central to the upcoming November 3, 2026 election. Hinojosa’s campaign had not responded at the time of publication.
