Accidental balcony fall kills Connecticut executive at Madison Square Garden concert
The city medical examiner ruled the June 20 balcony plunge of Paul Kueker at a Goose concert in Madison Square Garden an accidental death.
The city medical examiner’s office announced Monday that the death of Paul Kueker, 51, who fell from a 150-foot balcony at Madison Square Garden during a Goose the Band concert, was ruled an accident. Kueker, a resident of Niantic, Connecticut, dove head-first over a four-foot glass barrier during the intermission on June 20, apparently while intoxicated, and suffered multiple blunt impact injuries that proved fatal. Witnesses described the fall as sudden, hearing a loud bang and seeing his head a foot from their shoes, while several other attendees suffered minor injuries.
Kueker served as director of operations for the energy-management firm Smartcon Solutions, whose general manager William Brown called him an extraordinary colleague. In response, the band began selling a “Big Love” T-shirt, directing all proceeds to a GoFundMe campaign launched by Kueker’s family.
