Acer unveils ultra-light Swift Blade 14, a pound lighter than the MacBook Air

Acer announced its Swift Blade 14, a new 14-inch notebook aimed at matching the MacBook Air’s slim profile while shedding weight. The laptop tips the scales at 1.76 lb (799 g) and is 0.51 in (12.95 mm) thin, about 1.7 mm thicker but nearly a pound lighter than Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Air. Its lightweight chassis relies on carbon-fiber construction for the top lid and bottom plate.

Inside, the Swift Blade will be offered with Intel’s Wildcat Lake CPUs, ranging from a five-core Core 3 304 to a six-core Core 7 350, all paired with 12 GB of RAM. A standard 1920×1200 IPS display with 300 nits brightness is included, while OLED options up to 2880×1800, 90 Hz and 400 nits add a modest thickness increase. Connectivity consists of three USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports (one data-only) and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Acer has not disclosed pricing, planning a December launch, and also revealed the larger Swift Air 16, which will feature similar Intel chips, Thunderbolt 4, OLED options, up to 16 GB RAM, and up to 512 GB storage, weighing 3.31 lb and 0.53 in thick, arriving in North America in Q1 2027 and elsewhere in December.
