Acquitted Nithari case suspect Surinder Koli found dead in Haridwar tea stall
Surinder Koli, cleared in the 2006 Nithari murders, was discovered dead by apparent suicide at a tea kiosk in Haridwar.
Police in Haridwar responded to a tip around 11 a.m. on Friday and found 50-year-old Surinder Koli hanging inside a tea stall on Sapt Sarovar Road near Lal Mata Temple. Authorities say no suicide note was recovered and suggest family disputes may have motivated the act. Koli had been living in the city for several months after renting the stall. He and businessman Moninder Singh Pandher were previously charged in the Nithari serial killings that emerged when skeletal remains of eight children were found in Noida in 2006.
