Activist files emergency injunction to halt aerial cull in Yuraygir National Park
Carmen Jackson sought an urgent court order to stop an aerial pest-control operation in Yuraygir National Park, and the hearing was adjourned to tomorrow morning.
The application, lodged by activist Carmen Jackson, challenges the legality of an aerial cull targeting pigs, deer and brumbies in the park north of Coffs Harbour. The case was initially heard by the NSW Land and Environment Court in the early hours of the day. Justice Rachel Pepper paused the proceedings and scheduled a continuation for 9 am the following day, urging that future submissions not be served at midnight or 1 am.

The injunction could change how wildlife management is carried out in a protected national park.
