Activist Moshe Friedman Seeks Court Order to Expel US Ambassador from Belgium

Moshe Friedman petitioned a Belgian judge to compel the expulsion of the United States ambassador within trois jours ouvrables, attaching a daily fine of 8000 euros for any postponement. He bases his request on the Vienna Convention, alleging one outlet’s interference in Belgium’s internal matters and criticizing the federal authorities for their lack of response. This legal move is linked to an ongoing Antwerp investigation into ritual circumcisions, in which Friedman participates as a civil plaintiff.

Public commentator Bill White has repeatedly labeled Friedman an impostor and a scammer. Concurrently, Friedman filed a personal lawsuit against the ambassador, accusing him of threats, extortion, defamation and harassment; the trial is scheduled for 20 octobre at the Brussels criminal court. The ambassador has indicated he will rely on diplomatic immunity to defend himself. Several Jewish organizations have distanced themselves from Friedman, questioning his self-styled rabbinic title.
