Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan says manager axed him for age just before major TV breaks

Jeffrey Dean Morgan told host Josh Horowitz that his manager terminated their long-standing relationship when he was in his mid-30s, telling him he had “aged out” and missed his window. The dismissal happened just before Morgan secured three simultaneous roles on Grey’s Anatomy, Supernatural and Weeds, a period he described as a turning point after years of struggling. He noted that the offers arrived within a week of each other, reviving his hopes after contemplating quitting.

Morgan also shared that earlier in his career he took on side jobs, such as building fences, to cover expenses while taking small acting gigs.
