Actor Tyler Mane credits wife with early detection of his breast cancer

Tyler Mane, known for roles such as Sabretooth and Michael Myers, discovered a breast lump that he first thought was a benign lipoma. After his wife Renae repeatedly urged him to seek medical advice, doctors performed a biopsy and identified invasive ductal carcinoma, a form of male breast cancer. A 28-millimeter tumor was surgically removed, and Mane, diagnosed at Stage 1, began a regimen of chemotherapy followed by radiation.

He intends to launch a podcast called "Mane AF" with his wife to talk about midlife, marriage and his cancer journey, featuring his oncologist as a guest. Mane hopes the show will educate men about the risk of breast cancer and encourage them to listen to partners who suggest medical checks. Statistics from the American Cancer Society show that roughly 2,670 U.S. men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2026, underscoring the rarity but seriousness of the disease.
