Actress Nina Shipman, known for roles in The Oregon Trail and The Munsters, dies at 88

Nina Shipman, 88, died of natural causes at a hospital in Gardena, California, according to her stepdaughter Lianne Bremer. She began her film work with an uncredited appearance in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo (1958) and later secured contract roles at 20th Century Fox, including a part alongside Bing Crosby in Say One for Me (1959) and as his daughter in High Time (1960). Shipman's most visible screen work featured her as Prudence Cooper in The Oregon Trail (1959) with Fred MacMurray, and a guest spot on The Munsters (1965) where she played a youthful version of Grandpa after a plot-device pill transformation.

Her television résumé spanned series such as The Andy Griffith Show, Bonanza, and Perry Mason. Beyond acting, she authored a book on television commercials, hosted an educational health series, taught at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, and pursued interests in piano and falconry. Survivors include her daughters Westerly and Lani, grandchildren Bryson, Serena, Cole, Charlie and Clover, and former husbands Richard Harrington, C. Ransom Walrod and Donald Bremer.
