ADΕΔΥ announces work stoppage and protests ahead of parliamentary vote on constitutional overhaul

ADΕΔΥ announced a coordinated series of actions to confront the government’s economic program presented by Mitsotakis and the pending second vote on constitutional revision. The union’s executive committee criticized the proposals as insufficient for public-sector employees’ right to a decent salary and highlighted ongoing attacks such as the new disciplinary framework and attempts to remove job permanence. A work stoppage will begin on Wednesday in the Athens region from midday until the shift ends, with a protest rally at the Constitution Square at 1 p.m. The union called on federations to convene immediately and plan joint information campaigns. Subsequent days will feature regional meetings, a commemorative gathering for the anniversary of Paúlοs Fýssa’s assassination, and a nationwide day of action in early October, aiming to sustain pressure on the government.
