Adani Group shares slide, flagship stock hits five-month low amid market weakness

Shares of Adani group companies fell on the BSE, with Adani Enterprises dropping to its lowest level in over five months.

Adani group stocks were under pressure in Thursday’s intra-day session on the BSE, with the flagship Adani Enterprises down 6% to ₹2,590, marking a five-month low. Adani Green Energy fell 7% to ₹1,248.80, while Adani Power, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, Adani Energy Solutions and Adani Total Gas each slipped between 2% and 5%. The broader market mirrored this weakness, with the Sensex down 0.9% at 71,956.

Over the last six trading days, Adani Enterprises has lost 13% and is 20% below its 52-week peak of ₹3,245 reached on July 6, 2026. The company recently received an AA Stable rating upgrade from CARE Ratings, citing a large equity raise and a stake sale in its airport subsidiary that improve financial flexibility. Nonetheless, analysts note that the group’s extensive capital-intensive projects carry implementation risks.

Why it matters

The decline signals investor concerns over Adani’s heavy debt load and large-scale expansion plans.
