ADB approves $650 million loan to boost Indonesia's regional fiscal and digital systems

The Asian Development Bank confirmed a US$650 million loan, equivalent to Rp11.5 trillion, to support Indonesia’s efforts to upgrade regional fiscal management and digital governance under the ADIL subprogram. The funding will create a national digital platform that consolidates fiscal data and reporting, while also promoting equitable property-tax assessments to increase local revenue streams. ADB country director Bobur Alimov highlighted the importance of tighter coordination between central and regional authorities for more effective public-service provision.

The cooperation framework further addresses civil-rights safeguards, gender-responsive planning, and integrated disaster-risk management. By strengthening fiscal and digital infrastructure, the initiative aligns with Indonesia’s Vision 2045 and the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan, aiming to spur economic growth and reduce inequality.
