Adidas lifts full-year profit outlook after strong Q3 results and tariff refund
Adidas reported a 37% jump in operating profit to €1.01 billion in Q3, boosted by a €200 million U.S. tariff refund, and raised its full-year profit forecast.
Adidas announced that third-quarter operating profit surged 37% to €1.01 billion, the highest quarterly figure on record, largely due to a €200 million refund from U.S. tariff claims. Revenue climbed 9% to a record €7.25 billion, while currency-neutral revenue grew 7% and gross margin improved by 2.5 percentage points to 54.3%. The tariff refund and strong full-price sales lifted margins, offsetting adverse currency effects.
Based on these results, the company now projects full-year operating profit of about €2.5 billion, roughly €100 million higher than previously forecast, and intends to allocate €100 million to growth initiatives in the final quarter. Analysts had expected €2.4 billion, and Adidas’ U.S. ADRs rose up to 3.9% after the release. Final Q3 numbers are scheduled for Oct. 29.
Why it matters
The upgraded profit outlook signals stronger financial health for Adidas and may influence market expectations for the sportswear sector.
