Admiral Beverage recalls 77,000 cans of 7UP Tropical after labeling mix-up

Admiral Beverage is pulling over 77,000 cans of 7UP Tropical in Utah after some zero-sugar labels were found on full-sugar soda.

Admiral Beverage Corporation began a voluntary recall on Aug. 20 of more than 77,000 cans of 7UP Tropical distributed in Utah after discovering that cans labeled “7Up Tropical Zero Sugar” actually contain the full-sugar formula. The recall covers 3,240 cases, or 77,760 twelve-ounce cans packaged in 12-packs, identifiable by lot code UT06176 and a best-by date of March 17 2027. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration listed the recall as Class II on Sept. 29, indicating that any health impact would likely be temporary or reversible.

No adverse-reaction reports have been disclosed, and the agency’s notice does not explain the labeling mistake or list the retailers involved. Admiral Beverage, based in Worland, Wyoming, operates the production line in Pleasant View, Utah, the same address cited in the FDA report. The recall is still active, and consumers are advised to check their cans for the specified lot code and expiration date.
