Affin Hwang launches European futures platform for Malaysian investors
Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd has partnered with Eurex to let eligible Malaysian clients trade selected European futures, expanding their market reach beyond Asia.
Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd announced a partnership with the European exchange Eurex to offer a suite of futures contracts to qualified Malaysian investors. The service covers European equity indices, interest-rate products, individual equities and volatility instruments, all delivered via the bank's Foreign Futures platform. Hanif Ghulam Mohammed explained that the offering enables clients to broaden their portfolios, reduce concentration in Malaysian and Asian assets, and better hedge against worldwide market fluctuations.
He highlighted that Eurex's extended trading hours give investors the ability to respond quickly to developments in Europe and the United States. The move is part of Affin Hwang's ongoing strategy, begun in 2023, to grow its foreign futures business through global partnerships. The launch took place in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
