Afpa confirms data breach affecting millions of individuals after hacker claim

According to deputy director Pierre Prady, the attackers likely exploited a flaw in an external hosting application used for managing Afpa's facilities, leaving the agency's main information systems untouched. The stolen records consist of personal details such as names, addresses and potentially telephone numbers, while sensitive financial or social security data were not present on the compromised platform.

Afpa is currently evaluating the full extent of the compromised information and will inform anyone whose data may have been exposed. This breach adds to a recent wave of cyber incidents in France, including attacks on the tax authority and the education ministry, highlighting ongoing vulnerabilities in the country's digital infrastructure.
