Air quality in Sarawak hits unhealthy levels, Serian records highest API of 197
Thirteen locations in Sarawak reported unhealthy Air Pollutant Index values, with Serian district police headquarters reaching 197.
The Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System showed that as of 5 p.m., thirteen areas across Sarawak exceeded safe air quality thresholds. Serian posted the peak reading of 197, followed by Kuching at 184 and Samarahan at 181. Other districts such as Sri Aman, Bintulu, Sibu and Sarikei also logged readings above 160. Nationwide, 45 locations recorded moderate levels and nine were classified as good.
