Airline catering workers in Los Angeles allege unsanitary conditions at kitchen
Employees at a Los Angeles-area airline catering plant reported exposure to mold, cockroaches and maggots, filing a complaint with Cal/OSHA.
Staff at a catering operation that supplies in-flight meals to Los Angeles International Airport said the Inglewood facility was riddled with mold, roaches and maggots. The workers also noted a lack of basic restroom supplies such as soap and paper towels. Their grievances were submitted to the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health on August 5. The complaint targets Flying Food Group, a major provider for several busy U.S. airports.
