Akash Anand pledges loyalty to BSP and seeks Mayawati's forgiveness

Former BSP national coordinator Akash Anand posted a heartfelt appeal to Mayawati, insisting he will not join another party and calling the BSP his family.

Akash Anand, who was removed as the BSP’s national coordinator on September 10, issued a public statement on X declaring that he will never switch parties and that the BSP is his family. His message directly addresses Mayawati’s criticism of his silence when she asked his father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, to retire, a request he failed to amplify on social media. Anand explained that his absence from the platform was due to a personal withdrawal from social media, not disloyalty, and expressed regret for any hurt caused.

He also praised Mayawati’s decision to expel Siddharth, calling it appropriate, and pledged to place the party’s mission above personal ties. The appeal seeks to restore his standing within the BSP and to demonstrate renewed commitment under Mayawati’s leadership.

Why it matters

The appeal highlights internal power struggles within the BSP and Mayawati's influence over party loyalty.
